  • What is an arborist?

An arborist is an individual who is trained in Arboriculture. They understand trees and their needs and are trained in providing the best care available. Arborists are able to safely and effectively remove dangerous sections of trees without damaging the whole. In addition, they have training in safe work practices to completely deal with potentially hazardous situations.

  • What training does an arborist have?

An arborist is a professional with at least 3 years training in the cultivation and management of trees, shrubs and other garden plants. They focus on the health and safety of individual trees and plants in the context of property owners and communities.

Using a qualified arborist avoids the risk of your trees being damaged by uneducated pruning. An arborist can also assist you by preparing a tree survey report for your local council

  • Why do I need a qualified arborist to lop my tree?

Tree lopping is contrary to the Australian Standard (A.S. 4373; 1996 Pruning of Amenity Trees). It is also against council regulations, and you could potentially be charged for contravening those regulations. Be safe and use people who are trained to protect both you and your property.

  • How can I know if a tree on my property is dangerous and needs to be removed?

There are various signs that indicate the health of your trees, including:

    • Sap seepage from trunk/base
    • Obvious signs of distress
    • Bracket fungus at roots
    • Dead or wilting leaves
    • Dead branches/twigs
  • How do I know if my tree is safe?
